The Jackson family is determined to hold entertainment company AEG Live accountable for the death of Michael Jackson.
According to TMZ, Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, and his three children, Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II Jackson, are suing the entertainment giant for $40 billion, blaming it for hiring Dr. Conrad Murray.
The website says the Jacksons filed legal documents calling out AEG Live for its alleged negligent hiring and supervision of Murray during preparations for the “This Is It” tour in 2009.
Per the gossip website, Michael Jackson’s children are asking for $10
billion from AEG Live for all of the future earnings their father would
have made from the concerts and $50 million for various other damages.
AEG Live is said to be shooting down the hefty suit, saying Jackson’s career was on a downward spiral anyway and that the damage claim is based on rank speculation.
The civil case begins in Los Angeles on April 2.
